Dragon Warriors: Dragonlance Campaign

This section provides information for playing Dragon Warriors in the campaign world of Dragonlance. I would recommend reading Dragonlance Chronicles by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman for background information on Dragonlance. Even if you are not into Dragonlance, The Chronicles are still worth a read as they are among the best fantasy novels.

Draconians

Draconians are among the most feared of the dragonarmies during the War of the Lance. They were created from the eggs of good dragons by the dark cleric Wryllish Parkane, the Black Robed mage Harawell Dracart and the ancient red dragon Harkiel the Bender. Their creation took place in the temple catacombs underneath the volcanoes known as the Lords of Doom.

Draconian, Baaz
ATTACK 15 MAGICAL ATTACK - Baaz draconians were created from the eggs of brass dragons. They stand at about 6 feet tall. They are smarter and more cunning than Kapak draconians. A combination of scales and partial mail armour offer them good protection in combat. They favour scimitars and bows. Sometimes, they use poison-tipped arrows. A Baaz draconian turns into stone when slain. Many warriors were caught unaware and had their weapons trapped by a dying Baaz draconian.

Draconian, Kapak
ATTACK 18 MAGICAL ATTACK - Kapak draconians were created from the eggs of copper dragons. They are larger than their Baaz cousins, standing at 6 and a half feet. They refuse to wear armour, thus relying only on their tough scales for protection. Their spittle is poisonous (3d6 strength poison, causes paralysis). They sometimes lick their weapons to coat them with their poisonous spittle. Kapak draconians dissolve into a pool of acid when killed. Anyone within 2m who fail to evade (SPEED 12) will suffer 1d6 points of acid damage. Armour will reduce this damage. Non-magical armour not made of metal will have AF reduced by 1 after 1 CR. Non-magical metal armour will have their AF reduced by 1 after 3 CR in the acid.

Draconian, Bozak
ATTACK 17 MAGICAL ATTACK 16 Bozak draconians were created from the eggs of bronze dragons. They can cast Sorcerer spells of up to 4th level. They have 15 MP. However, unlike Sorcerers, they get their MP by praying once per day to Takhisis. Besides their sorcerous abilities, Bozaks are competent warriors and have Strength 16 or higher. They wear hardened leather armour in addition to their scaly hides for protection. Like most draconians, their preferred weapons are scimitars. When a Bozak is slain, its bones rattle and implode, causing 2d6-AF dmg to all within 2m who fail to dodge its SPEED of 14.
DEFENCE 9 MAGICAL DEFENCE 10
Armour Factor 3 EVASION 5
Health Points 13-18 Rank/Rank-Equivalent 6

Draconian, Sivak
ATTACK 20 MAGICAL ATTACK - Created from the eggs of silver dragons, Sivak draconians are the largest of the draconians. While the other draconians can only glide, Sivaks can truly fly. They were commonly used as aerial scouts during the War of the Lance. They have the special ability of shapechanging and often infiltrate human armies in their altered forms. Sivaks are powerful warriors and have Strength of 19 or higher. Their tough scales provide an AF of 3.

Draconian, Aurak
ATTACK 18 MAGICAL ATTACK 20 Auraks are the most powerful of the draconians. They were created from the eggs of gold dragons. They have golden scales and are the only wingless draconians. Auraks have the spell-casting ability of an 8th rank Sorcerer. When slain, an Aurak will explode, turning into a massive fireball. This causes 4d6-AF pts of damage for anyone within 3m who fails to dodge its SPEED of 18.
